Job Description

Child Guidance Resource Centers is looking for full time Mental Health Professionals to join our Family First department in Delaware County. 

 The Family-Based Therapist provides intensive, home and community-based family therapy to children and adolescents displaying social, emotional and/or behavioral disorders and their families. As part of a therapeutic team, the Family-Based Therapist provides a continuum of services, including intensive case management, system advocacy, information/referral, therapy (individual to child or adult, family and couples), and crisis intervention/stabilization. 

Responsibilities:

  • Orients family members to the structure and purpose of FBMH treatment.
  • Engages and motivates family around treatment plan.
  • Uses case management, FSF funds, crisis calls, and interagency team leadership to promote treatment objectives.
  • Ensures that follow up services and discharge plans are discussed and in process 60 days prior to termination.
  • Engages Family and CASSP team in collaborative decision making regarding future treatment efforts, referrals, & terminations

Requirements:

  • Masters degree (preferred) in Family Therapy, counseling, social worker, psychology, or related field
  • License in respective field preferred; Licensed Supervision and AAMFT Approved Supervision is available. 
  • Two (2) years experience working with children and families in a mental health, education, child welfare or juvenile justice system OR a minimum of two (2) years case management experience working within a multi-disciplinary team and collaborating with multiple service providers 
  • Competent to address the age-specific issues relative to the population served. 
  • Knowledge of DSM 5 and working knowledge of DSM 5 community resources, home-based service provision, special education, 302 criteria, and abuse/neglect report procedures preferred. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. 
  • Valid driver’s license and a car required. 
  • Flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
